Frances H. Hampton

Ms. Hampton is counsel to the firm and served as a shareholder of the firm, managing the Tax and Estates Group. Her areas of expertise include trusts and estates, estate planning, estate administration, business succession planning, adult guardianships, business and taxation. Her unique professional background and comprehensive education in law, taxation and accounting provides an innate ability to identify and resolve complex issues, including sophisticated estate tax, business succession planning, fiduciary litigation and matters before the Internal Revenue Service. Prior to her admission to the Virginia Bar in 1996 and the Colorado Bar in 1997, Ms. Hampton practiced as a Certified Public Accountant and corporate comptroller. Ms. Hampton has a Master of Laws in Taxation and is a Certified Financial Planner. Ms. Hampton also served as an adjunct professor at Old Dominion University and Regent University School of Law teaching Estate Planning and Gift Tax. Ms. Hampton has been selected by her peers to be included in Virginia Business magazine's Legal Elite in the category of Taxes, Estates and Trusts for three consecutive years. Ms. Hampton is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
